Sample Image 1
In low-light or night shooting without a tripod, it is recommended to select faster shutter speeds and higher ISO sensitivities with a fast lens to prevent camera shake. However, use of a general fast lens with the aperture set at the maximum will cause sagittal coma flare, an aberration where a point image located at the peripheries forms a conspicuous image resembling a bird spreading its wings.
With the AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G, causes of sagittal coma flare are intensively eliminated at a large number of points across the entire frame. Even at the peripheries, point light sources are reproduced as point images, resulting in clear and crisp night landscape shots.
